First Aid at Work

This is a three day accredited Level 3 First Aid at Work (RQF). Certificates last for three years. Before their certificates expire, first aiders will need to undertake a re-qualification course.

What does the course cover? This course provides attendees with in-depth skills and knowledge in the following areas:

  • Roles and Responsibilities of a First Aider- to include Kits and reporting
  • Primary Survey
  • Basic life support (CPR & AED)
  • Secondary Survey
  • Recovery position
  • Choking
  • Shock
  • Wounds and bleeding Parts 1 & 2
  • Diagnosis and treatment of major illnesses such as: anaphylactic shock, heart attack, stroke, seizures, diabetic emergencies and asthma
  • Head Injuries
  • Burns and Scalds
  • Bones, joints and muscle injuries
  • Poisons
  • Eye Injuries

Who would benefit from these courses? All are welcome to attend the course. As well as workers nominated to become first aiders, those with vulnerable friends or family may find the training beneficial, or anyone who would like to be able to help in an emergency situation.


Emergency First Aid at Work

This is a one day, accredited, Level 3 Emergency First Aid at work (RQF) course. Certificates last for three years. Before their certificates expire, first aiders will need to undertake a re-qualification course.

What does the course cover? In broad terms, this course provides attendees with the basic skills and knowledge necessary to assess, manage and give effective treatment for:

  • Roles and Responsibilities, to include First Aid kits and Reporting
  • Primary Survey
  • Resuscitation (CPR & AED)
  • Recovery position
  • A choking casualty
  • Shock
  • Types of minor wounds and bleeding
  • Minor burns

Who would benefit from the course? All are welcome to attend the course – as well as workers nominated to become first aiders, those with vulnerable friends or family may find the training beneficial, or anyone who would like to be able to help in an emergency situation.


Paediatric First Aid

Either a one day ccredited-Level 3  Emergency Paediatric First Aid (RQF) course, or a two day Level 3 Paediatric First Aid (RQF) course. These courses enable people who work with or look after children meet OFSTED requirements. Certificates last for three years. Before their certificates expire, first aiders will need to undertake a re-qualification course.

What does the course cover? The Emergency Paediatric First Aid course (1 day) covers:

  • Roles and responsibilities, to include First Aid Kits and reporting
  • Primary Survey
  • Baby and child resuscitation (CPR)
  • Recovery position
  • Baby and child choking
  • Shock
  • Wounds and bleeding

The Paediatric First Aid course (2 day) Covers: As above plus:

  • Secondary Survey
  • Wounds and Bleeding Part 2
  • Anaphylatic shock, asthma, Diabetic emergencies, Seizures, meningitis
  • Head injuries
  • Burns
  • Electric shocks
  • Bones, joints and muscle injuries
  • Poisons
  • eye injuries
  • Effects of heat and cold

Who would benefit from these courses? Nannies, child minders, Early Years teachers, Primary School teachers and others working with babies and children. Parents and other family members may find this course beneficial so that they can be prepared should an emergency arise. The 1 day accredited Level 3 Emergency First Aid course is suitable for nannies wishing to join the voluntary part of the OFSTED childcare requirements. It is also suitable for Au-Pairs, babysitters, parents or anyone who cares for children. The 2 day accredited Level 3 comprehensive course is in line with the statutory framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage and meets OFSTED requirements; it is suitable for early years teachers, primary school staff and nursery assistants.


Emergency Outdoor First Aid

This is a nine hour accredited Level 3 Emergency Outdoor First Aid  (RQF). Certificates last for three years. Before their certificates expire, first aiders will need to undertake a re-qualification course.

What does the course cover? In broad terms, this course provides attendees with the basic skills and knowledge necessary to assess, manage and give effective treatment for emergency situations in the outdoor setting:

  • First Aid in the outdoor environment
  • Roles and Responsibilities of the outdoor First Aider
  • Primary Survey
  • Secondary Survey
  • Recovery position
  • Outdoor Scenarios
  • Resuscitation (CPR & AED)
  • Immersion in water
  • A choking casualty
  • Shock
  • Wounds and bleeding

Who would benefit from the course? All are welcome to attend the course. Anyone spending time in the outdoors or wilderness environments through recreational, voluntary or work related activities will especially benefit and may have a legal obligation to hold a first aid qualification.


Outdoor First Aid

This a two day (eighteen hours) accredited Level 3 Outdoor First Aid  (RQF). Certificates last for three years. Before their certificates expire, first aiders will need to undertake a re-qualification course.

What does the course cover?
In broad terms, this course provides attendees with the basic skills and knowledge necessary to assess, manage and give effective treatment for Emergency situations in the outdoor setting:
